On 21st June, 2013 Carra National School proudly raised their SECOND Green flag for the Energy Theme. Although we were not honored by the presence of An Taoiseach this time round we did have TD’s, councillors, past pupils, family and friends present to watch this special ceremony. We also had Laura Hennigan and Mary Forde from An Taisce here to congradulate us and watch the ceremony.
The green flag was raised by David Clarke, Mayo Goalkeeper, assisted by Jacinta Moran and Cathal Kelly. All the pupils sang songs and played music for our guests. Once all the formalities were over it was time to party. The parents and grandparents all brought in lovely food and cakes for everyone to enjoy. Michelle Bourke once again made our Green Flag Cake – which went down a treat.
Thanks to everyone for sharing our special day. Now we have started working on our third flag which is the Water Theme which we hope to apply for in March 2015. You will hear more about this in the coming months.
